Art Deco Architecture in Glasgow, Scotland

Image
This evening, I am posting information on one of Scotland’s best examples of Art Deco architecture as manifested in the Beresford Building located at 460 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. The building dates from 1938 when designed by William Beresford Inglis as hotel accommodation for the Empire Exhibition of that year. Here is a summary of change of use: 1938-1952: Hotel. 1952-1964: Offices. 1964-2002: Student Residence. 2002 to date: 112 privately owned flats. The building covers ten floors and is technically known as Art Deco/Streamline Moderne architecture.
