Lake Windermere
This afternoon, I am posting information on Lake Windermere in the English Lake District. The latter is an area of exceptional natural beauty most of which is incorporated within a National Park. The Lake District is located in N.W. England, south of Carlisle. The Lake District encompasses sixteen principal lakes of which Windermere is the largest ( in fact ranks as England's largest lake) extending to 14.8 sq km in area and 10.5 miles in length. Attractions close to Lake Windermere include: World of Beatrix Potter Lake Cruises Steamboat Museum Brockenhole Landscaped Gardens Beatrix Potter Gallery. Hill Top, farmhouse being former home of Beatrix Potter. Lakes Aquarium Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Fellfoot, restored Victorian Park. Towns close to the lake include Ambleside and Windermere.
