Netherton Cross, Hamilton Old Parish Church, Scotland This evening, I am posting information on the Netherton Cross which now stands in the grounds of Hamilton Old Parish Church, Scotland. Hamilton is a large town in South Lanarkshire,central Scotland, about 45 minutes S.E. of Glasgow . Key facts concerning the Cross: Dates from the 10th/11th centuries. Oldest example of Christianity in Hamilton. An example of British Strathclyde sculpture influenced by Manx-Norse design. Originally stood in open ground in what is now Strathclyde Country Park.
