  Highland Cow at Glen Nevis Today, myself and two guests (family) embarked on Day 1 of a seven day tour of Scotland. Weather was cloudy with intermittent rain. The route started Glasgow and proceeded as follows: First, a drive past of Giffnock Synagogue. Giffnock is the centre of Scotland's Jewish population. Giffnock Synagogue Next to Dunbarton Rock on the River Clyde. Famous for it's connection with the Kingdom of Strathclyde (1st millennium) and Mary, Queen of Scots (16th century) Dumbarton Rock Next, through the upscale small town of Helensburgh, also on the Clyde, then on past Faslane Naval Base which is home to Britain's nuclear deterrent of Trident submarines.
