Model Steamer Club at Rouken Glen, Scotland

On Saturday, June 15th I encountered a display of model steam boats at Rouken Glen Park in Glasgow, S.W. Scotland.

These boats belong to a club which had its genesis over 30 years ago when a group of scratch scale model boat modellers and enthusiasts of the #Clyde paddle and turbine steamers embarked on a project to model an age which was almost gone but still fondly remembered by many Glaswegians.

The Club regularly visits #Clyde resorts to provide radio controlled displays of models of ships which used to ply the waters of the River Clyde and Firth of Clyde.

Club members sail a wide range of models, not only the favourite paddlers but also post-war diesels of the CalMac (ferry) fleet, a range of puffers, lifeboats, modern war-ships and kits.

Club members indulge in a relaxed sailing every Saturday from 2.00pm.

(#Clyde means River Clyde a major waterway in the West of Scotland which was once a power house of commercial ship building.)
