This evening, I am posting information on the pleasant harbour village of Eyemouth on Scotland’s east coast.

Eyemouth is located on the coast in the county of Berwickshire, about 52 miles S.E. of Edinburgh. As will be evident from the images herein, Eyemouth is essentially a fishing port and is frequented by seals. Other facts and information concerning Eyemouth:
  • Population 3400.
  • Home to Eyemouth Museum which was established in 1981 to commemorate centenary of the Great East Coast Fishing Disaster of October 1881 when 129 local fishermen lost their lives in a sudden hurricane.
  • Home to tourist accommodation, shops, pubs and galleries.
  • A weekly market operates at nearby St Abbs. Here can be found local arts, crafts, gifts, produce and more.every Friday.
  • Hosts an 18 hole Championship Golf Course which is promoted as the premier golf course in the Scottish Borders region.
A worthwhile stop when touring east coast of Scottish Borders.
