Craft and Flea Market, Glasgow

Today, despite horrendous rain and wind, my wife and myself attended a Craft and Flea Market at Glasgow's Briggait. Information on the event can be obtained from the promotional narrative below.

"Craft & Flea brings together the best independent makers, collectors, designers, and creatives from your area.

Support small businesses by shopping local at our unique twist on the traditional craft market. With a wide selection of products, including ceramics, illustrations, candles, jewellery, vintage collections, and more, there's truly something for everyone on offer!

But this isn’t your typical craft fair. We carefully screen all stall applications to ensure only the finest artisan traders are featured. Our events celebrate creativity and craftsmanship, showcasing only handmade, hand-designed, and authentic vintage goods."

The wide range of stalls can be seen in the images below. Before proceeding further would like to mention an interesting anecdote. Before Christmas I purchased an unusual 'chunky' necklace from a charity shop for a modest sum. Unfortunately, my wife was not attracted to the item which, by happenchance, I had with me today. We came across a stall specialising in jewellery which was run by a lady from Nigeria. I asked the lady if she could help with identification of the necklace which, to our amazement, she promptly informed us that it was a religious item from the Igbo region of Nigeria used in worshipping certain deities.I eventually agreed to sell the item to the Nigerian lady for a sum equal to four times my original purchase price but suspect there is a lot more price mileage to get from the item.I enjoy mooching around charity shops although this is the first time I have had a 'win'.

Pampered Pooch-not for sale!

Overall, a satisfying day, even if we did get a good soaking at the beginning.
