Back Roads tour of Wales: A one day experience.

025

Today, I am posting information on a one-day 'backroads' tour of Wales.

First. depart  lodgings at Felinfach near Brecon, about 42 miles north of Cardiff then drive north to first objective of Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall in the north of the country. This leg of the trip will take about 2 hours 30 mins. The waterfall is located in a remote spot accessible only via narrow and winding roads which entails slow going albeit with benefit of stunning views of the countryside which is heavily populated with sheep. Pheasants.might also be in view.

Next, Pontcysylite Aqueduct, near Llangollen. This impressive example of engineering dates from 1795 and still functions today as a link between canals.Surprisingly, for a World Heritage Site, the aqueduct is difficult to find due to absence of local signage.Locals may be of help.
