Tour Cambridge, England

Emmanuel College Garden

This evening, I am reprising a private tour of Cambridge.Unfortunately, some of the images are of sub-optimal quality.

First, we first visited Emmanuel College which has an excellent garden open to the public as illustrated in images above and below.

After concluding our visit to Emmanuel College we joined the sightseeing tour bus which took us around the key city sights and sites.

After a light lunch we went to the Institute of Astronomy for a private tour led by Mark, the very helpful librarian. This establishment has a long history dating back to the 1830s. We were particularly interested in one James Challis (1803-1882) who achieved the dual roles of Plumian Professor and Director of the Cambridge Observatory.

At culmination of the Institute of Astronomy tour we moved on to our lodgings for the night and enjoyed a good meal at the local Loch Fyne Restaurant.

Tomorrow we visit Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
