Oban Harbour Sightseeing

 Introduction

This evening, I am reporting on a seal watching and sightseeing trip around Oban Harbour, off the west of Scotland.

 Seal Colony,

Information on the Oban Harbour Sightseeing Trip.

This short trip lasted about one hour and encompassed:

  • Views of the ruined Dunollie Castle  (Clan MacDougall).
  • The Hutcheson Monument, an obelisk to a shipping company founder.
  • A salmon farm.
  • Island of Kerrara.
  • Oban Harbour
  • The ‘Dog Stone,’ a geological feature which legend suggests was where the giant Fingal tethered his dog, Bran whilst Fingal hunted in the Hebrides. Fingal is a mythological giant with Irish connections.
